Dr Omer is a professor and the Associate Program Director of Diagnostic Radiology Residency at university of Maryland-USA.
His career priorities include creating and implementing innovative teaching methods and educational assessment tools to make the learning experience more meaninfgul and productive for all of his trainees, students, and mentees. Dr. Awan remains a strong advocate for medical education, creating a formal curriculum to train residents in medical education. Dr. Awan is a frequent lecturer and educator at many of the field's national and international meetings, including Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA), the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), the Association of University Radiologists (AUR), and the Society of Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM).
