The most common characteristic of aortic dissection is its abrupt start. It can happen at any time, while doing anything. We have a very well defined time window for acute aortic emergency salvage: the sooner the better. A couple of months ago, an emergency patient described experiencing a hyper-acute phase with sensations of tearing, stabbing or ripping, CT revealed that the left kidney is supplied by the false lumen and is currently in a state of hypo-perfusion, which let surgeons know exactly what this patient has and what surgeons are dealing with.
